The role:
You will join a busy, real-time newsdesk, ensuring they deliver accurate, balanced, well written articles to deadline for our flagship website. You will report to the UK-based news editor, and you will cover developments in Latin America, the Middle East and Africa, as well as key global bodies such as UN Environment.
You will strive to maintain their reputation for informative, pertinent, accurate and timely content, you will also attend conferences around the globe.
News writing will be your primary task but you will also write occasional features and suggest ideas and contacts to the broader journalist team as well as their Events team. You may also be required to chair or speak in or speak at one of their webinars or conferences (in time).
About you:
You will be an enthusiastic and thorough graduate, preferably with 1 or 2 years first job experience (not necessarily in journalism - a research role would also work well), with a keen interest in health/environmental issues, the developing world, the global economy and how laws and regulations are made in different countries. You will need excellent English language writing skills and the ability and drive to to rapidly learn about a complex subject matter, and the business and scientific debates that surround it. Writing and speaking ability in Spanish, Portuguese, French or Arabic an advantage.
Editorial team members work full time from home but the successful candidate could also work in the Bath office - this may work better for someone starting out in their career.
