My client is an expanding B2B business and they have a new opportunity for an experienced sales/account manager to work across a portfolio of websites and events, selling subscriptions, training, online advertising, sponsorship and exhibition packages. You will manage the sales team (currently two people and likely to grow). As Sales Manager, you will also play a key role in the management team, helping to devise strategy and plans.

The position is customer-facing, and you will communicate with your clients/customers via phone and email correspondence, supported by some direct customer contact at events and exhibitions and client visits. The successful candidate will be commercially-focused, have proven experience within a B2B market environment and a successful track record of personal sales performance. Applicants must be willing and able to perform a full range of tasks intended to bring in new subscribers, sponsors, advertisers, delegates and trainees, while also engaging with existing key accounts and other clients to maximise sales opportunities.

You will need to be alive to sales opportunities in all the activities you are performing, which will include responding to incoming inquiries, converting free members to paid subscribers, developing key account relationships with specialist suppliers and large multinational companies, contacting prospects to establish their requirements and build relationships

You will have excellent attention to detail and, ideally, demonstrable experience working with a CRM system within a sales environment.

The position requires travel to attend events and clients. You should be comfortable meeting and conversing with customers and event attendees as well as demonstrating the company services online.

  • Willing to pitch in wherever needed in an entrepreneurial environment

  • Experience with customer/marketing databases and/or CRM software
  • Able to work within a team as well as on own initiative
  • Organised, with an eye for detail
