This is an exciting opportunity for a mid-level executive/manager to join a small commercial team within an established, online publisher.
The company are looking for this person to join their commercial team at an exciting time - the company show strong year-on-year growth - you’ll be at the heart of their marketing activities in support of premium subscription information services and a thriving events programme.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and executing successful marketing campaigns; leveraging multiple channels including web, email, social media, print, event attendances and partnerships to reach their target audience and communicate the benefits and value of their products and services.
Initially you will work across their portfolio of products. Upon their Marketing Manager returning from maternity leave - you'll cover for her in the interim period and you'll have stepped up to the same level) you will specialise in one or more areas - e.g. event marketing or subscriptions - depending on your skills/experience.
Being very much a ‘hands on’ role, you will be required to write compelling marketing copy (also liaising with an external freelance writer), produce promotional materials (working with their in-house designer), setup and send targeted email campaigns (using Campaign Monitor), analyse customer data, conduct research, generate leads, submit social media posts, create/edit web pages (using their CMS), create and send direct mail pieces, manage customer data, monitor campaign performance against KPIs, and more.
Your strong writing skills, creative flair, attention to detail and excellent technical capabilities will help ensure the success of your campaigns. You will be comfortable working with heavyweight B2B information products/services and able to communicate clearly and effectively with an expert, professional community.
You will be supported in your role by a full-time marketing assistant.
The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, a strong team player, self-motivated, flexible and happy to embrace change within a developing online business. A strong work ethic is a ‘must’.
This position represents an excellent opportunity to deepen your understanding and broaden your experience of marketing campaign management.
You will have a minimum of three years’ experience working in a comparable role within a digital marketing team and also have a solid understanding of digital marketing generally, preferably supported by a marketing degree or diploma. Experience of managing a marketing assistant is also an advantage.
